New York City: Mayor Bloomberg Wants to Ban Cigarette, Dip and Cigar Coupons!
Mayor Bloomberg has proposed legislation that, among other things, would ban all tobacco product coupons and price discounts.
The proposed legislation would fuel New York City's serious and growing cigarette black market and would undermine the progress New York City retailers have made in preventing underage tobacco use.

Don't Let Salem Stick You with the Tab
In April, Citizens for Tobacco Rights, supported by PM USA, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. and John Middleton, let you know that politicians in Salem were considering House Bill 2870, which would give Oregon counties the authority to impose a new local tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products.
But now, in addition to allowing counties to target adult tobacco consumers with a new local tax, they are also considering increasing the state cigarette excise tax!
STOP the Tobacco Tax Hike!
It's been less than a year since California voters rejected Prop 29 -- a proposal that would have more than doubled the state tax on cigarettes and nearly doubled the tax on cigars and smokeless tobacco. The people spoke, but apparently Sacramento didn't like what they heard! And now the legislature wants to do what voters refused to do -- unfairly burden hardworking Californians with higher taxes!
Enough is enough!

Don't Let Politicians Decide What You Can Buy
The Governor Maggie Hassan and the New Hampshire General Court are considering increasing the state excise tax on cigarettes by $0.20 to $1.88 per pack. That’s a $2.00 per carton increase and nearly $20.00 per carton in state excise taxes alone!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Tobacco Tax Increase is GROWING and Time is Running Out!
As you know, adult tobacco consumers are being unfairly targeted with higher taxes to fill over 60% of the state’s budget gap. But what you may not know is that Governor Dayton has struck a deal with the House and Senate Leadership to stick adult tobacco consumers with the tab for building a new stadium!!
Your voice is critical to stopping this legislation from being passed! The legislature will be in session all weekend and will adjourn on Monday, May 20th.
